First struck in 1989, the Gold Philharmoniker was originally denominated in 2,000 Austrian schillings. Following Austria's transition to the euro in 2002, the one-ounce coin's denomination was changed to 100 euros. It is minted to the highest standards, embodying Austria's rich cultural heritage and precision craftsmanship. The obverse features the magnificent organ from the Golden Hall of Vienna's Musikverein, while the reverse displays orchestral instruments: a cello, four violins, a Viennese horn, a bassoon, and a harp.
